Group cruises

Cruises are not cheap these days, but group cruises can make them cheaper. Cruise have in fact never been cheap, but with fuel and food prices rocketing, and increased safety measures and comfort being asked for by passengers, the cost of running cruises and cruise lines is getting incredibly expensive. Cruise lines are frequently going bankrupt when they fail to get enough bookings, so cruise lines inevitably have to pass on the cost of the cruise onto the passengers.

Passengers are rarely happy about this, and it will cause them to shop around in order to find the best deal which offers them the best service. Some people have come up with clever methods of reducing the cost of their cruise.

Some will ensure that their cruise is all inclusive, and that they will not have to pay more money than they have in order to take a cruise. Others will reduce the number of days that they will sail for from a previous year in order to keep the cost around the same. After all, once you've actually been on a few cruises you know how to be more productive with you time: if that means waking up earlier to get in the line for breakfast, of if it is perhaps something more along the lines of spending more time on deck than on excursions.

But there is an even better way of saving money when you're booking a cruise.

Just like the penguins that you might see if you take a cruise towards the Antarctic, South Africa, New Zealand or the Galapagos Islands, you'll find that there is safety in numbers. Or to be more precise: there is discount in numbers. The more people that you book with, the greater the discount will be.

Group cruises enable you to reduce the amount that each person pays, or you could even get the whole cruise paid for if you can encourage 15 people to go with you. Of course, it's nicer for 16 people to go together and split the reduction in order to reduce the cost of everyone's cruise. You don't have to just think about your close friends when you think about going on a cruise.

There are many groups that take cruises together, and you might want to think about doing a similar thing with a similar group in order to save money. You could go with your church group, your softball league, or even have your wedding at sea.
