The WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) is being held this year in San Francisco, running from June 6 to June 10 – however, any developers without a ticket who were hoping to travel to the conference are now facing a ‘sold out’ sign on the Apple web site, a day before they were put on sale.
The tickets, which were being sold at $1,599, are now appearing on sites such as eBay for double the price. However, anybody considering purchasing second-hand tickets have been advised that only registered developers will have the ability to activate them.
The conference will feature demonstrations and technical sessions hosted by Apple programmers and engineers. "At this year's conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS," stated Philip Schiller, the company’s senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing. "If you are an iOS or Mac OS X software developer, this is the event that you do not want to miss."
The 2010 conference saw the unveiling of the iPhone 4, and speculation is running wild as to whether the iPhone 5 will make an appearance this year. It is also rumoured that the iOS5 operating platform will be announced. Schiller confirmed that the main focus of the WWDC will be on iOS and Mac OS X development; the actual schedule and content of the conference is yet to be confirmed though further details are expected next week.
