It's a Knockout: Granny vs. Shark Edition

You just can't make this stuff up! A grandma enjoying a snorkelling holiday near the Whitsundays in Queensland Australia was the unfortunate victim of a vicious shark attack last week. But rather than simply trying to make her escape, the 60 year old holiday maker decided to fight back - by literally punching the five foot shark in the face.

Paddy Trumbull thought that she was going to enjoy a stunning view of underwater life when snorkelling near the boat that had carried her and her husband close to the Whitsunday islands. But the underwater life had other ideas! As she was enjoying her jaunt, Paddy felt a massive tug at her legs. She knew instantly what was happening, and glanced towards her feet to see her aquatic attacker trying to make mincemeat out of her. At this point, many of us would have panicked and tried to swim away as quickly as possible. But not Paddy Trumbull. She made a bee line for the shark's nose - knowing it was a sensitive spot - and repeatedly punched the shark until it conceded defeat and swam away. The 60 year old granny was then pulled back into the boat and airlifted to hospital. Despite her valour, she was still seriously injured and required emergency surgery.

According to doctors at the hospital, Paddy had lost 40% of the volume of her blood by the time she reached them. Thankfully, she is expected to make a full recovery - although the medical experts have said that Paddy will need some reconstructive surgery. She wasn't complaining, though, when the medical experts revealed that she will need the cosmetic surgery to give her a whole new bottom!

So not only will she be the hardest granny in Australia, she may well end up being the hottest too!
